About this project
Ono is a light chair with a welcoming design language. The construction is obvious in its own way. The ergonomically, flexible and supporting back lifts the seat from the frame giving the chair a light and inviting expression.
In 2017 the Ono chair won the Good Design™ award from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design. The chair is part of their permanent design collection.
Ono is described on the Chicago Athenaeum Museum website : “Ono is a light wooden chair with welcoming design language rooting strongly to the Scandinavian design tradition giving the chair a touch of history. Ono chair takes these roots into the future referring to contemporary needs, architecture and interiors without compromising on functionality, comfort and aesthetic values. The construction is obvious in its own way, the back carries and lifts the seat from the frame giving the chair a light and inviting expression. The opening in the backrest allows to position the lower part of the back ergonomically right. Further, the opening makes the handling and cleaning of the chair easy”
